Overview

The Atlanta Children's Day Shelter is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for families facing homelessness by providing quality early childhood education and family services.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team. As a Preschool Co-Lead Teacher, you will work collaboratively with the Early Childhood Education Director and Assistant Director to deliver a high-quality educational experience for children aged 0-6 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement lesson plans aligned with the Georgia Early Learning Development Standards (GELDS)
  • Provide meaningful instruction and age-appropriate experiences for children in language/literacy, math, cognitive development, social and emotional learning, and physical development
  • Maintain positive communication and contribute positively to the work culture
  • Assess and maintain records of children's needs and developmental progress
  • Work cooperatively with other staff, volunteers, and families to ensure the needs of all children are met

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word and Outlook)
  • Must possess a CDA, AA, or TCC degree in Early Childhood Education or higher credential
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children younger than six years old in a state-licensed childcare facility
  • Familiarity with the Georgia Department of Early Care Learning Bright from the Start Rules Regulations

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $42,000 - $43,992 per year, depending on experience. The shelter offers paid holidays, PTO, 403(b) plan options, and 100% Employer-paid healthcare.
