Position Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse in our Cardiac Care Unit is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Collaborating with medical professionals, the RN provides both pre-operative and post-operative nursing support, acting as a patient advocate to ensure an exceptional healthcare experience.
In this role, you will manage our 12-bed telemetry unit, typically maintaining a patient ratio of 1:3. Our unit caters to a diverse range of cardiac and medical patients requiring a high level of care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical and administrative support for procedures such as TPA infusion and cardiac surgery.
- Educating patients and their families on care protocols.
- Administering medications accurately and monitoring vital signs.
- Interpreting telemetry monitoring strips and identifying cardiac rhythms for appropriate interventions.
- Coordinating care among various healthcare disciplines and managing discharge planning.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or holds a Compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
