Ultrasound Technician PRN Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technician PRN to join our team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality ultrasound images of patients, managing equipment, and utilizing independent judgment to administer diagnostic ultrasound.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain quality ultrasound images of patients
  • Manage all ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information
  • Utilize independent judgment and decision making in complex situations involving the administration of diagnostic ultrasound
  • Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner
  • Prepares examination rooms for ultrasound procedures and maintains room cleanliness and neat appearance
  • Assist the radiology nurse or the radiologist in administering medications, performing biopsies, and all types of care to the patient
  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and completes verification process in PACS
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
