Job Summary

This is a temporary position for a Doctorate of Audiology Externship at Kaiser Permanente. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of a licensed audiologist, providing diagnostic evaluations, prevention, habilitation, and rehabilitation services for auditory and balance problems.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations of hearing and balance disorders, including physical and otoscopic examinations of the outer ear.
  • Fit, program, and dispense hearing aids, and participate in cochlear implant assessments.
  • Conduct electrophysiologic evaluations of the vestibular and auditory mechanisms, and perform electroacoustic measures of the peripheral and central auditory systems.
  • Counsel individuals with auditory disorders, their families, and other service providers regarding the etiology of the disorder and its management.
  • Provide reports and coordinate audiological results with other diagnostic data, such as educational, medical, social, and behavioral information.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Completion of three years in a doctoral-level audiology program or two years in an accelerated doctoral-level audiology program required.
  • Temporary Audiologist License (California) required at hire.

  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
