We are seeking a dedicated Disease Prevention Educator to join our team at UNM Medical Group, Inc.

Job Description:

This is a full-time opportunity located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a competitive salary range of $46,779 - $58,479.*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

As a Disease Prevention Educator, you will be responsible for educating patients and clients about disease prevention and health promotion strategies. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide patient-centered medical care for HIV and gender-affirming primary care, as well as consult services for Hep-C and PrEP.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED with 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. A valid unrestricted NM driver's license is also required.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement disease prevention and health promotion programs for clinics, schools, and communities.
  • Provide clear, understandable, current, and accurate health-related information and education to clients.
  • Assess high-risk individuals and assist them in decreasing their risk for identified health concerns using the stages of change model.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through completion of required departmental competencies.
