Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of students and their families, directing all inquiries for information through the classroom teacher.
  • Supervise students in the presence or absence of the teacher.
  • Assist with toileting needs of children, including training, diapering, and cleaning as necessary.
  • Support feeding needs of children, including preparing food, feeding, training, and cleanup routines.
  • Participate in health and hygiene programs, such as brushing teeth.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment, including washing utensils and disinfecting furniture or materials.
  • Provide individual or group training as instructed by the classroom teacher.
  • Maintain data related to individual student progress.
  • Prepare instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
  • Implement behavior management approaches during training sessions and address disruptive behavior.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the principal.
  • Assist with transportation of students, if necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a GED or high school diploma.
  • Must pass the state service personnel competency test for Aide.
  • Must meet all requirements for a Substitute Aide Position, including CPR and First Aid Training.

Working Conditions:

  • Reports to the Building Principal and Classroom Teacher.
