The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment, documenting corrective actions, and recording quality control.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluates clinical specimens with accuracy and precision, following established protocols.
- Maintains equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Documents critical values and quality control results, as applicable.
- Runs quality control materials according to established procedures, resolving any discrepancies.
- Utilizes information systems pertinent to the job, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Calibrates instruments according to manufacturer's recommendations, ensuring optimal performance.
- Collaborates with colleagues to promote an effective team environment.
- Identifies patient specimens correctly, ensuring accurate results.
- Correlates laboratory information with clinical information to ensure accuracy and diagnostic yield.
- Handles multiple projects and prioritizes tasks efficiently.
- Reviews and evaluates reports as requested, providing timely feedback.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting is required, with a strong background in microbiology. The successful candidate will be licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of Florida and possess basic computer knowledge.
