Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical ICU

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical ICU team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. This is a full-time night shift position, working 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (7pm-7am).

This position is eligible for a competitive Sign On bonus and Relocation bonus for those relocating to the area.

About the Role:

The Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) at Inova Fairfax Hospital is an 18-bed adult unit. Our medical population includes but is not limited to: GI bleeding, COPD, sepsis, and septic shock. Our post-operative surgical population includes: esophagogastrostomy, AAA repair, numerous revascularization surgeries and abdominal surgery. We also provide care to liver, liver/pancreas transplant and obstetrical emergency patients.

The MSICU Highlights: 18 private rooms (all have patient lifts), EpicCare electronic medical record technology for improved care and safety, Geriatric-sensitive color schemes and patterns for patient and visitor safety, Patient/Family zones in patient rooms to promote involvement, privacy and comfort, Larger patient room windows allowing more natural light to promote healing, 360-degree patient access in critical care rooms for urgent in-room procedures, Free Wi-Fi connectivity throughout hospital for convenience.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year ICU RN experience
  • Education - BSN from accredited school of nursing
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred
  • RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
  • Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills
