Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parts Counter Specialist to join our team at National Guard Employment Network. As a key member of our parts team, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their parts needs, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of parts to our technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers in identifying needed parts and providing accurate information on availability and pricing.
  • Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and shipping parts.
  • Work with the parts team to maintain a profitable department, including finding cost-effective solutions for parts procurement.
  • Read and interpret parts catalogs, technical manuals, and computer systems to identify replacement parts and prices.
  • Order and receive parts from suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and accurate inventory tracking.
  • Fulfill customer orders from stock, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of parts.
  • Ensure technicians receive the correct parts in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and improving productivity.
  • Track lost sales and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date on new product bulletins and catalogs, ensuring our inventory is current and accurate.
  • Prepare and process computerized invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
  • Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when replacement is not available.
  • Pick up and deliver parts for customers and suppliers as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stockroom, adhering to our company's safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with annual physical inventory, ensuring accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Control expenses to increase profitability, working closely with the parts manager to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and forklift certification.
  • Previous experience in parts counter or inventory management.
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six years related experience and/or training.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Work Environment:

The work environment is a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse setting, with occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually quiet.
