Job Summary

The Processing Technician is responsible for operating processing equipment to ensure the proper mixing of ingredients to exact measurements and specifications in accordance with a Manufacturing Batch Record.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate processing equipment, including dry bean unloading, hydrovey systems, dewatering belts and reels, destoners, blanchers, grinders, mix kettles, saute kettles, and vegetable mixing.
  • Support processing operations to ensure proper mixing of ingredients to exact measurements and specifications in accordance with a Manufacturing Batch Record.
  • Accurately prepare and maintain production and quality documentation.
  • Perform required sanitation and sterilization of processing systems.
  • Participate as a Team Member of their assigned Business Unit.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of production environment machinery operation equivalent to at least one (1) year experience preferred, including ability to run, set-up and change-over equipment.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot production related problems.
  • Demonstrated equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software applications, preferably with MS Office applications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.

The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.

The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.

The operator will be exposed to wet and humid conditions and have to work with cleaning chemicals, toxic chemicals, and some dust in the atmosphere.

The noise level in the work environment is at a level that hearing protection must be worn.

Working in close proximity with moving forklift trucks is required.
