The Shift Lead is a critical role within Banfield Pet Hospital, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hospitals during their assigned shifts. Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership Duties (20% of time):
    • Provide continuity and operational support across all shifts
    • Help coordinate and guide the paraprofessional staff
    • Support hospital leadership in maximizing productivity and profitability
  • Paraprofessional Responsibilities (80% of time):
    • Perform the duties of a veterinary assistant/technician, including:
    • Actively recruiting new clients and promoting hospital services
    • Maximizing the number of pets seen by the hospital team
    • Providing professional, efficient, and exceptional service to clients and pets
    • Assisting with procedures, preparing for surgeries, and monitoring hospitalized pets
    • Managing finances, maintaining accurate balances, and utilizing proper opening and closing procedures
    • Ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and associates
Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong understanding of veterinary medicine and hospital operations, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in a variety of situations.
