  • Participate in all construction and quality control meetings.
  • Monitor safety practices on-site and report any violations immediately.
  • Notify relevant authorities if hazardous conditions are not addressed promptly by contractors.
  • Document all accidents and incidents to the appropriate management.
  • Review and analyze construction plans and specifications.
  • Alert management of any potential disputes or issues that may arise during construction.
  • Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks on construction contracts and coordinate solutions for technical challenges.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports detailing site visits and quality assurance activities.
  • Provide feedback on contractor performance at project completion through written reports.
  • Compile reports evaluating contractor adherence to schedules, quality standards, and overall effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in mechanical and plumbing schematic design, particularly in commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities.
  • Proficient in developing comprehensive Statements of Work, including necessary drawings and specifications for new and renovation projects.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and practical experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician.
  • Successful completion of a background check and the ability to obtain necessary security clearance prior to employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of construction contract requirements and the ability to recommend necessary changes.
  • Familiarity with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build project delivery methods.
  • Capability to estimate design and construction efforts and assist in negotiations with contractors.
  • Experience in reviewing contractor submissions and responding to requests for information.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems and significant hands-on experience in this field.
  • Ability to work independently while interpreting and applying engineering principles to complete tasks.
  • Strong foundation in the physical and mathematical sciences relevant to mechanical engineering.
  • Practical experience with various mechanical systems, including boilers, chillers, and utility systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction practices and management techniques.
  • Ability to review complex technical specifications and engineering designs.
  • Familiarity with quality control inspection tools and methodologies.
  • Understanding of construction technology principles and industry practices.
  • Proficient in using AUTOCAD and other relevant software.
  • Ability to design control systems and produce necessary documentation.
  • Experience with construction site evaluations and progress reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Demands: The role requires regular sitting, walking, and the use of hands for various tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

Work Environment: The position is primarily office-based, with occasional exposure to construction sites under varying environmental conditions.
