Unit Overview
The 4th floor (4NS) is dedicated to cardiac progressive care, featuring 36 beds, including 30 semi-private rooms and 3 private rooms, one of which is a negative pressure room. Each patient is monitored via telemetry, ensuring constant oversight. Our unit accommodates a variety of patients, primarily hemodynamically stable adults aged 18 and older, requiring monitoring every four hours. We also accept pediatric patients aged 14 and above in private rooms, provided a guardian is present. Common patient conditions include cardiac interventions, pre-CABG, arrhythmias, blood pressure irregularities, congestive heart failure, substance abuse issues, and general medical cases. Our unit administers medication drips, including antiarrhythmic drugs, IV nitroglycerin, heparin, non-titrating dopamine, and IV inotropic medications (excluding levophed, neosynephrine, or labetalol). However, we do not manage ventilators or heated high-flow oxygen modalities. The 4th floor is characterized by a fast-paced, energetic atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork, kindness, and mutual respect among all staff members. We strive to create a supportive yet structured environment that fosters professional growth and development, involving families in patient care and decision-making.

Responsibilities
The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in supporting licensed nursing staff by delivering direct patient care and maintaining the nursing unit's environment under the Registered Nurse's supervision. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing personal care and ensuring the safety needs of patients promptly.
- Maintaining an organized unit environment with adequate supplies and equipment to facilitate effective patient care.
- Assisting with the admission, discharge, and transfer processes of patients in accordance with established protocols.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home setting is preferred.
- Current CNA certification is preferred.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with night shifts, requiring 40 hours per week. The hours of work are from 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with variable days and every other weekend commitment.
