Job Summary:

Strategic Human Capital is seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to improve process safety, reliability, efficiency, and production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on technical support to operations, troubleshooting processes, and equipment to meet production goals.
  • Monitor plant operations for adherence to Operating Envelope parameters, investigating and resolving issues.
  • Track plant performance, compile monthly reports, and recommend improvements in production, raw material consumption, and utility use.
  • Develop and monitor chemical specifications for raw materials and manufactured products.
  • Provide technical recommendations and engineering support during planned shutdowns and maintenance activities.
  • Support the laboratory with technical expertise as needed.
  • Manage the Management of Change (MOC) Program, tracking all action items from the Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) process.
  • Provide input on the CAPEX Plan, manage cost tracking, and oversee execution schedules for capital projects.
  • Maintain and update process control systems, including PLC changes and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program requirements and track related action items.
  • Conduct and facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and HAZOP reviews for all units.
  • Ensure the integrity of assets through regular inspections and manage the reliability of protective systems.
  • Create or modify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support operations and maintenance teams.
  • Other duties as required to support plant safety, reliability, and production efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in plant operations, with hands-on experience in process and equipment optimization.
  • Knowledge of process safety management, operating envelopes, and safety-critical systems.
  • Experience with PLC systems and ability to implement and coordinate control system updates.
  • Familiarity with CAPEX project management, including cost tracking and scheduling.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments.
  • Knowledge of chemical specifications for raw materials and finished products.
  • Ability to lead or support PHA/HAZOP reviews.
  • Familiarity with the Management of Change (MOC) and Mechanical Integrity (MI) Programs.
