Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Ascension. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing high-quality images for interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and adjust all equipment to perform exams, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures to maintain a safe and effective work environment.
  • Perform routine and complex studies, assisting in a variety of imaging procedures to support patient care.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations to ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning, reporting potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS, ensuring accurate patient data and history.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and other areas.
  • Comply with regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date.
  • One or more of the following certifications required: Cardiographic Tech, Radiologic Technologist, Medical Sonographer, or Sonography Tech.
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OB/GYN experience strongly preferred.
