Job Overview

Position Title: Metal Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled individual for the Metal Fabrication Specialist role. This position is situated in a rapidly expanding sector. The selected candidate will be tasked with the setup, operation, and quality inspection of parts. The majority of the work will involve Stainless Steel and Mild Steel, with approximately 90% of tasks focused on stainless materials.

The responsibilities include:

  • Forming sheet metal components in accordance with work orders and technical drawings.
  • Setting up and operating press brake machinery, with experience in Bystronic and Cincinnati machines considered advantageous.
  • Conducting inspections of parts based on customer specifications.
  • Utilizing hand tools and measuring instruments such as squares, protractors, calipers, and radius gauges.
  • Calculating bend allowances and selecting appropriate tooling for specified bending tasks.
  • Lifting weights up to 35 lbs.
  • Demonstrating punctuality and reliability in attendance.
  • Working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
Required Skills

Technical Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in bumping parts and forming radii.
  • Experience with light gauge sheet metal is a plus.
  • Ability to set up and operate press brake machines.
  • Competence in using hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Capability to calculate bend allowances.
  • Physical ability to lift 35 lbs.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Consistent punctuality and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Employment Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 months.

Work Environment

Working hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, in a sheet metal fabrication shop. The environment can be warm during summer months and heated during winter.
