Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant will provide high-quality patient care and administrative support in our OB/GYN department. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and record vital signs, prepare patients for examination, and assist healthcare providers during procedures.
- Accurately document patient information, including chief complaints and concerns.
- Provide excellent patient care and support, including setting up examination rooms and preparing necessary supplies.
- Perform point-of-care testing and assist with patient education.
- Participate in daily huddles to review patient needs and discuss recent test results.
- Administer medications and other patient care services as ordered by healthcare providers.
- Assist with emergent and urgent requests from healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including EMR and other information.
- Verify patient demographic information at each visit to ensure accurate contact information.
- Query patients to ensure preventive health care guidelines are followed.
- Process correspondence for assigned providers, including disability forms and school/work excuses.
- Perform other duties as required and directed.
Requirements:
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Experience working in OB/GYN and with diverse population groups.
Skills/Certifications:
- Ability to acquire considerable knowledge of policies, procedures, and programs.
- Considerable knowledge of modern techniques of staffing analysis.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply basic laws and regulations.
- Ability to design and execute organization analysis and staffing and task analysis.
- Ability to prepare clear, sound, accurate, and informative reports.
- Ability to develop, implement, and direct the use of office and record-keeping systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work cooperatively with healthcare providers and other professionals.
- Ability to work effectively in a team relationship.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.
