About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our Layer 7 Security team at Palo Alto Networks. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing critical components of our Next-Generation Firewall system, including GlobalProtect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative security features, such as Machine Learning powered NGFW, Credential Phishing prevention, and URL-filtering.
  • Collaborate with product management to define user requirements and develop functional designs.
  • Implement efficient and robust code using Go programming language.
  • Work closely with quality assurance and field support teams to ensure high-quality and performance-driven features.
  • Architect and design innovative solutions with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
  • Experience with HTTP and web server backend development.
  • Experience with networking development, including TCP/UDP, Socket programming.
  • Experience with Redis, SQL or NoSQL database.
  • Proficient in C programming under Linux development environment.
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming and large-scale, distributed, and/or high-performance software design and architect.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with multi-functional groups.
