Job Summary

The School Nurse will provide basic health services to students, assist in planning and implementing school health programs, and evaluate the health status of students and the health service program. The ideal candidate will have two years of successful public school nursing experience and be able to provide instruction in health practices, first aid, child care, and other related subjects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with welfare and attendance problems and concerns


Requirements

  • Two years of successful public school nursing experience
  • Possession of a valid School Nurse Services credential or Preliminary School Nurse Services credential or eligible for credential
  • Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License
  • Ability to provide instruction in health practices, first aid, child care, and other related subjects


Preferred Qualifications

  • Eligible for credential program
  • Official transcripts showing a baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Photocopy of a valid Registered Nurse License issued by the State of California


Working Conditions

The School Nurse will work in a school setting, providing health services to students and assisting with school health programs. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
