Job Title: Caregiver - Direct Support Professional Float

Caregiver, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional Floater to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional Floater, you will play a vital role in fostering patient independence by providing direct daily support, education, and transportation to clients with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Job Summary

The Direct Support Professional Floater is responsible for providing direct care to consumers served by the agency, including emotional support, meal preparation, and documentation of services provided. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work in challenging environments without physical limitations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to consumers served by the agency
  • Provide emotional support to consumers and their families
  • Follow directions of the RSD to meet the consumer's service needs
  • Prepare healthy, well-balanced meals and specific physician-ordered diets
  • Complete required in-service hours each year to maintain active status
  • Document services provided and turn in paperwork within specified time frames
  • Provide homemaker services if specified in the consumer's Individual Service Plan (ISP)
  • Demonstrate reliability, timeliness, and responsibility while caring for consumers
  • Flexibility in scheduling when consumer's needs unexpectedly change
  • Be available anytime to cover shifts when contacted
  • Ability to work in challenging environments without physical limitations
Qualifications and Education

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or GED
  • A Texas Driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation
  • One-year prior experience working in a group home setting with developmentally, intellectually, and/or physically disabled individuals preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with special client needs
  • Demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills
