Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing exceptional pet grooming services to dogs, utilizing knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding customer satisfaction by providing personalized grooming services
  • Assist in generating business by scheduling appointments, following up with customers, and verifying vaccinations
  • Book appointments, greet pets, and report any accidents or injuries to the Store Manager
  • Follow bathing/grooming procedures, clean ears, clip nails, and perform other needed services
  • Adhere to customer instructions, clip dog's hair according to determined pattern, and use electric clippers, combs, and shears
  • Comb and shape dogs' coat, talk to live animals, and use non-physical techniques to keep animals calm
  • Complete and maintain customer and company forms, properly fill out required grooming forms, and observe all safety rules and procedures
  • Sweep, vacuum, clean, and sanitize cages, tubs, and other areas as needed to maintain standards
  • Assist in store operations as needed
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1-year experience grooming/styling pets, comfortable working with dogs and cats, and ability to provide own tools or purchase required tools
  • High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training provided by Petsense, or any suitable combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately, operate and use all grooming tools and equipment, and communicate effectively with customers
  • Display compassion with animals, exhibit attention to detail, and work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate
Working Conditions

Working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise. Exposure to wet conditions, pets, and pet waste. Ability to move and transfer live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
