Position Overview
As a vital member of the Dallas College team, the Financial Analyst will engage in a range of intricate accounting responsibilities. This role encompasses the preparation and oversight of financial analyses, budget oversight, general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and the generation of various financial documents and reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct reconciliations and analyses of designated general ledger accounts and budget allocations.
  • Independently investigate records and prepare necessary journal entries.
  • Audit and reconcile reports to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Review incoming journal entries for accuracy and compliance with relevant guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases to provide timely information to management.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and uphold customer trust.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather and explain data.
  • Act as a resource for interpreting business office procedures and regulations.
  • Analyze business operations and financial commitments to project future revenues and expenses.

Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or higher, accompanied by a minimum of three years of accounting experience. A valid Texas driver's license is required for travel purposes. Bilingual skills and experience with grants are preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial data analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly spreadsheets.

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with physical challenges. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
