Hematology/Oncology Medical Expert

MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society is seeking a full-time Hematology/Oncology physician. We are a clinician-led organization dedicated to providing innovative and high-quality healthcare. Our dedicated Oncology team is experienced and collaborative, consisting of oncologists and advanced practitioners who provide care for patients referred to us and those within the broader community.

Your Role

  1. Lead a comprehensive cancer care program that includes an active research initiative, with opportunities to serve as Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in clinical trials.
  2. Participate in dedicated tumor board meetings covering various cancer types (GI/GU, liver cancer, breast, lung, neuro-oncology, hematologic malignancies).
  3. Utilize state-of-the-art technology and diagnostics, including onsite PET scan services offering PSMA PET, FES PET, and conventional PET/CT scans.
  4. Collaborate closely with academic institutions and university centers.
  5. Benefit from established Primary Care referral networks with multiple community sources.
  6. Work alongside a team care coordinator and scheduler, supported by a robust financial authorization department.
  7. Provide full infusion services, including conventional chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.

Compensation and Benefits:

  1. Starting bonus of $40,000.
  2. Competitive base salary with additional incentives; productivity-based salary structure after the first year.
  3. Generous vacation policy of 4 weeks+ and 1 week for Continuing Medical Education (CME) with a substantial stipend, malpractice insurance, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications Required:

  1. Possession of an unrestricted Maryland Physician (MD/DO) License or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
  2. Successful completion of Residency/Fellowship in an accredited program or the ability to secure this prior to employment.
  3. Board Certified or Board Eligible in medical oncology or hematology and oncology.

Note: The salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on various factors, including education, experience, and performance metrics.
