Professional Staff Nurse- Cardiovascular Operating Room Specialist

UPMC Hamot's Cardiovascular Operating Room is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Operating Room and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and provide care for patients and their families, using independent judgment and collaboration.
- Engage in activities that improve professional practice and patient care quality.
- Actively participate in team efforts, shared governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Effectively communicate patient conditions and care plans to other providers.
- Teach patients, families, students, and new staff, applying adult learning principles.
- Identify and participate in quality improvement efforts.
- Maintain a balance between work and personal life, modeling safe work hours and healthy lifestyles.
- Perform scrub duties (required for RNs hired on or after July 1, 2023).
- Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to system-wide competencies and behaviors.
- Patient Care: Demonstrate knowledge and skills to care for patients of all ages, understanding growth and development principles.
- Experience: OR experience required.
- Relationships: Build positive, caring relationships with all healthcare team members and patients/families.
- Work Environment: Handle multiple priorities and specialized equipment effectively.
- Clinical Judgment: Use critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills in patient care.
- Physical Requirements: Mobility, manual dexterity, and physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
- Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Current RN license or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP) in the relevant state, UPMC-approved national certification preferred, CPR: Required within 30 days of hire (AHA standards), Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal).
