We are currently seeking a Part-time Nutritional Services Technician to join our dedicated team.
The Nutritional Services Technician plays a vital role in providing food and nutrition support to residents under the guidance of a Registered Dietitian (RD). Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) as directed by the RD for nutrition evaluations.
- Creating and executing nutrition intervention plans for quarterly assessments and low-risk residents.
- Documenting medical, dietary, and nutrition-related information accurately.
- Reviewing resident menus to ensure compliance with daily nutritional requirements.
- Delivering personalized or group nutrition education sessions.
- Monitoring meal, snack, and medical food consumption to assess resident progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Ensuring the quality and accuracy of food served to residents.
- Maintaining professional skills and competencies essential for effective practice.
Position Details:
This is a part-time role requiring 24 hours of work per week.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist in developing appropriate dietary plans for residents based on their preferences, health status, and physician directives.
● Assess the dietary and health needs of residents.
● Calculate nutritional requirements for residents.
● Provide education to dietary staff regarding food and nutrition.
● Review therapeutic and standard diet plans to ensure adherence to physician orders.
● Ensure timely and complete documentation of nutrition assessments.
● Conduct quarterly nutritional evaluations; educate on dietary needs as necessary; record food preferences, and promote high-quality food service.
● Organize and deliver in-service training programs for the Dietary Department, in collaboration with the Registered Dietitian.
● Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
● Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and Registered Dietitian to maintain high standards of food service.
● Report any issues to the Dietary Manager and/or Registered Dietitian.
● Understand and follow the facility's emergency protocols during drills and actual emergencies.
● Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Registered Dietitian.
Qualifications:
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare-related food service environment is preferred.
• Must hold a current active license/certification to practice as a Nutritional Services Technician.
• Knowledge and skills necessary to provide dietary services suitable for the age-related needs of residents are essential.
• Familiarity with HACCP guidelines is required.
• An Associate's degree is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Compensation:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
