Position Summary:
As a vital member of our engineering team, you will engage in essential maintenance and repair tasks throughout the resort. Your primary focus will be on preventive maintenance in guest accommodations, communal areas, and service zones as assigned. Responsibilities will be allocated based on your skills, experience, and the operational needs of the resort. Accurate documentation of your tasks is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks across the property, including guest rooms, grounds, public spaces, and meeting areas. This includes minor repairs and painting. Execute basic maintenance and repairs as assigned, considering your abilities and training. Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or management to ensure high guest satisfaction.
  2. Address guest complaints within your authority; otherwise, escalate to management. Inform your supervisor and/or Security of any unusual occurrences, missing items, or suspected theft. Respond to service requests promptly.
  3. Utilize computer systems to receive work orders and document completed tasks. Maintain timely and accurate records.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and ensure all equipment used is in good condition. Keep tools organized and well-maintained.
  5. Inspect, maintain, repair, and replace components throughout the property, including machinery, drains, light bulbs, and filters.
  6. Wear appropriate non-slip, oil-resistant footwear. Adhere to all safety protocols and report potential safety hazards to management. Comply with OSHA regulations regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing tasks that pose health or safety risks. The resort provides necessary PPE, and you are responsible for reporting any defective or ill-fitting equipment.
  7. Consistently report to work as scheduled, demonstrating reliability and commitment.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in emergency situations to ensure operational support areas are effectively managed for excellent customer service.
  2. Collaborate with fellow engineers on maintenance and repair tasks as required.
  3. Identify necessary parts, supplies, tools, and materials to minimize downtime.
  4. Notify management of significant system or building issues and unexpected maintenance requirements.
Qualifications:

Required Experience and Skills:
  1. General knowledge of technical fields such as carpentry, painting, and electrical work.
  2. Preferred six months of related experience.
  3. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for high guest satisfaction.
  4. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  5. Basic computer skills and familiarity with property management systems.
  6. Completion of required training as scheduled.
  7. Ability to follow detailed instructions and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  8. Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  9. Willingness to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends, to meet the hotel's operational needs.
  10. Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of various tools and equipment used in hotel maintenance.
  11. Maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor.
