Job Summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of equipment, ensuring that our aircraft services team can operate effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other equipment.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Driving and Operations: Safely operate service equipment vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Accident Reporting: Report all accidents to Shop Supervisors and Managers.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform Daily Equipment Checks (DEC's) and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 1 year mechanical experience.
  • Skills: Welding and/or painting experience is preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Physical Demands: Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs.
  • Availability: Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.

The employee may regularly work in outside weather conditions and frequently works near moving mechanical parts, high voltages, and high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures. The employee is also frequently exposed to very loud noise levels, fumes or airborne particles, and hazardous substances, materials, or waste.

Under the daily supervision of the Maintenance Manager with assistance as needed from the Station Manager, the employee ensures that all work assigned is performed in a timely fashion with quality workmanship.

The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
