Position Overview:

Our team is on the lookout for a proactive Materials Quality Engineer dedicated to fostering a top-tier supplier quality framework. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating and managing supplier risks, performance metrics, and enhancement initiatives to ensure the stability of both Entegris and our clients' supply chains, specifically within the Materials Solutions Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between raw material vendors and Entegris, ensuring compliance with all incoming material quality standards. Analyze supplier process and product data to understand the influence of material properties on product integrity.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of supplier manufacturing workflows and act as a subject matter expert to mitigate and resolve quality challenges.
  • Enhance supplier capabilities to ensure they meet expectations regarding quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Take ownership of technical and risk assessments for any supplier modifications affecting raw materials.
  • Lead the development of strategic roadmaps and risk evaluations with suppliers to promote continuous improvement in processes and measurement techniques.
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers, engaging regularly to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments including quality assurance, manufacturing, commercial operations, and R&D teams, while gathering data for supplier performance metrics.
  • Drive completion of supplier corrective actions.
  • Oversee customer inquiries related to raw materials, including direct communication with clients when necessary.
  • Utilize Entegris' quality management protocols such as audits, FMEAs, corrective actions, scorecards, and six sigma initiatives to maintain a consistent and high-quality raw material supply.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for cost reduction and value enhancement with the existing supplier base, working in tandem with the procurement team to achieve results.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in chemical or polymer manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of chemical manufacturing processes, continuous improvement strategies, problem-solving methodologies, SPC, and FMEA.
  • Ability to distill complex data sets into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with statistical software such as Minitab or JMP.
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and cultivate robust business relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.
  • A proactive approach to meeting both internal and external customer needs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Knowledge of materials metrology and polymer processing.
  • Experience with Quality Systems and Auditing.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier or customer collaboration.
  • Background in semiconductor, microelectronics, automotive, or other high-tech sectors.
  • Project management experience.
