Job Summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Clinical Unit Supervisor for our Medical Surgical and Telemetry Nursing units. As a Clinical Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care and leading a team of nurses to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of nurses to provide excellent patient care and achieve unit goals.
  • Develop and implement unit-specific policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate patient care and achieve quality and performance improvement goals.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient care and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement education programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection of new staff members and provide guidance and support to new hires.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to promote growth and development.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment that complies with regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete a degree program within 5 years of their hire date).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice; minimum one (1) year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
  • Current California Nursing license.
  • Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
  • Basic EKG Competence.
  • Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred.
