Position Summary
Position will be responsible for directing, monitoring, analyzing, and implementing behavior analysis programs for assigned clients as designed by supervising Behavior Analyst. The incumbent works with individuals and groups to promote optimum treatment outcomes through the acquisition of socially significant adaptive behaviors and reduction in maladaptive behaviors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Assisting with the assessment of client and the creation of treatment programs under the direction of a supervising BCBA
* Assisting with the creation and analyzing/modifying (as approved by BCBA), of behavior analytic treatment programs
* Attend and participate in treatment/behavior management team meetings with staff.
* Ability to set up data collection measures and record client progress accurately and efficiently
* Ability to evaluate R/BT’s in the moment and deliver feedback both directly (i.e. during overlaps) and indirectly (i.e. evaluation forms, surveys, etc.) in a professional and productive manner
* Ability to bring performance issues and concerns to management
* Ability to communicate effectively to include but not limited to: o Timely responses to supervisors o Timely responses to administrative staff o Timely responses to R/BT’s o Timely responses to caregivers and clients o Responding to company emails o Follows company communication policies
* Attend weekly supervisor meetings
* Attend monthly mandatory staff meetings
* Ability to problem solve
* Ability to produce work in accordance with deadlines
* Ability to create a schedule to utilize prescribed treatment hours
* Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle emotionally charged situations
* Ability to train others to apply effective behavior management techniques using Behavioral
Skills Training
* Communicate critical information about clients to supervisors, clients, and stakeholders
* Maintains confidentiality of client records and abides by HIPAA laws
* Records client progress through data collection measures and detailed anecdotal notes in accordance with company and insurance guidelines and standards
* Ability to create necessary materials for treatment team to conduct session (i.e. stimuli, data collection measures, visuals, etc.)
* Ability to write a draft of a behavior intervention plan (BIP) to be reviewed by BCBA
* Ability to complete reports following guidelines from funding sources
* Ability to write client history
* Ability to write measurement and appropriate treatment objectives
* Ability to collect baseline data and conduct probes
* Ability to perform other miscellaneous tasks as requested by the supervisor or administrative department
* Ability to be flexible and tolerate change throughout the workday
* Ability to update progress sections of reports
* Ability to visually display data in a graphic representation
* Follows through on commitments made to the company, clients, and co-workers
* Works in alignment with company mission and values
* Is aware of and works in compliance with the BACB’s Ethical Code of Conduct for RBT’s AND
BCBA’s
* Completes record of appointments on a daily basis and logs time with accuracy (to include: time card, notes, updating schedule as needed)
* Fulfills prescribed treatment hours
* Ability to write instructional plans
* Conducts parent trainings or assists as requested by supervisor
* Ability to take direction and feedback professionally from a supervisor and implement changes
* Ability to evaluate supervision practices
* Responds to company communications (i.e. emails, texts, phone calls, etc.) during workdays and checks emails and messages daily during the work week.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
* Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Human Services, Special Education,
Early Childhood Education, or other related field
* Enrollment in or completion of Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis *required*
* Driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable means of transportation required
* 2+ years experience in the field of ABA
* CPI or NCI Training
* RBT, QASP-S, BCaBA, or BCAT certified
* Ability to use technology such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Motivity, AlohaABA, tablets, Zoom, gmail, etc.
* Maintains required licensure, certifications, trainings, etc. as required for the position.
* CPR/BLS Certification
*Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Director Session Protocol*
*PRIOR TO SESSION*
1. Clinical Supervisor ensures any necessary communication between treatment team, caregiver or scheduling department takes place prior to session if there are any immediate concerns and/or changes (i.e. Clinical Supervisor running late, cancellations, etc.) *This includes informing R/BT, *
*Clinical Supervisor, or Clinical Supervisor if they are expected to overlap together.*
2. Clinical Supervisor ensures that they have all necessary equipment and devices needed for the session and that they are charged. It is required to bring company assigned equipment (i.e. laptop, iPad, etc.) and your personal phone to each appointment AND a charger.
3. Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Director ensures that they have done their best to inform R/BT’s of supervision overlap, agenda for supervision/meeting if applicable, and/or zoom link is provided at least 2 hours in advance\*) *\*For telehealth appointments.*
4. Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Director arrives to session on time: a. For home & sessions: this means ringing or knocking on the door at overlap start time b. If the Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Director starts early, they will update their schedule accordingly. c. For telehealth appointments: If the client is late, supervisors will still start a supervision link and utilize that time to check in with the treatment team.
*FIRST 15 MINUTES OF SESSION*
2. Check in with caregiver (if present) a. Any environmental barriers/behaviors from the day
i.For clinic sessions: a. Any changes to pick up/drop off routine if at the clinic b. Client is signed in to binder ii.For home sessions: a. Who is the responsible person in the home 18+ years available if someone is needed (who will the client go to during staff breaks/session end times, etc.)
3. Pair with client/technician rapport and determine reinforcers (5-10 minutes)
4. Check client communication log a. Read and initial/date \*required b. Add any additional notes, questions, suggestions, feedback, etc.
*DURING SESSION*
5. Log in to Motivity a. Set up session notes with hours, name, units, etc. b. Pick and plan for session (what programs will you be observing, what tasks will you be completing)
6. When the client is on a break, utilize that time to check in with the treatment team to see if there are any new behaviors, concerns, updating needed, questions, etc.
7. Make an agenda for supervision and begin to work on it. Tasks can include but are not limited to: a. Analyzing data and graphs, inputting data, dynamic report writing, creating stimuli, adding new protocols to Motivity, adding new goals to Motivity, updating BIP, writing on the communication log, completing evaluations, conducting caregiver trainings, observing/modeling programs for R/BT and conducting Behavioral Skills Training (BST), collecting and analyzing IOA data, probing skills with client, working on other clinical tasks as needed for the client, etc.).
*LAST 20 MINUTES OF SESSION*
8. Finish writing anecdotal notes and any data collection.
9. Finish updating communication log and/or sending any treatment team updates/emails as needed.
10. Clean up with/without client (restore the environment back to what it was prior to session for both in home and clinic based sessions)
11. Check in with the caregiver and go over the session/note, retrieve signatures required for caregiver, RBT and/or supervisors, and finalize the note.
12. Schedule next overlap/caregiver meeting.
13. Render appointment on AlohaABA/Leave appointment.
*Language Ability: *
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
*Math Ability: *
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
*Reasoning Ability: *
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
