Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

The RAPID division is renowned for its advanced reticle inspection solutions in the semiconductor sector. We cater to both mask shops and semiconductor fabs, ensuring consistent lithography yields.

This position is ideal for an early to mid-career mechanical design engineer eager to contribute to the design of sophisticated opto-mechanical inspection systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the next generation of design, fabrication, and performance evaluation. Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing technical relationships with vendors.
  • Leading the design process encompassing requirements specification, feasibility studies, and detailed design.
  • Conducting analysis including FEA modeling, thermal analysis, and conceptual design.
  • Preparing detailed drawings and presentations for design reviews.
  • Overseeing the procurement of prototype components and supporting prototype testing and system integration.
  • Managing the transition of projects from design concept to manufacturing build, addressing all issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Innovate designs that integrate precision mechanisms, Ultra High Vacuum systems, opto-mechanical components, and electronic packaging.
  • Gain expertise in tolerance analysis, GD&T, and requirements flow.
  • Enhance skills in finite element analysis and thermal dynamics.
  • Perform comprehensive thermal analyses including heat transfer and temperature gradients.
  • Build strong vendor relationships for component fabrication and manufacturing process transfer.
  • Select appropriate materials and resolve fabrication methods.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and product introduction teams.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of physics and mechanics.
  • Engage in mechanical design, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing processes such as machining and welding is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in 3D solid modeling CAD, preferably ProE/Creo.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree with no experience or Bachelor's Degree with two years of industry experience.
