We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at KLA. As a key member of our Global Products Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative opto-mechanical systems for our wafer inspection tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop opto-mechanical systems, including modules and subsystems, to support the design of next-generation wafer inspection tools.
  • Own the entire design process, from initial requirements to detailed design, creation of detailed drawings, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with other engineering groups, such as Optics engineers, Systems engineers, and Manufacturing/Servicing engineers, to ensure flawless integration and test at the subsystem and system level.
  • Develop supporting documentation, such as assembly and test procedures, to support manufacture and service.
  • Address and resolve complex issues throughout the development phases.
Qualifications:
  • Significant experience designing opto-mechanical systems with commercial customers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, multi-functional environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and testing methodologies relevant to opto-mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in 3D and simulation software, capable of stress, thermal, and fluid simulation. Ability to perform first-order estimation using mathematics.
  • Effective communication in both written and verbal.
