Job Title: Sr. Estimator

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Estimator to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Estimator will be responsible for determining which jobs to bid on, preparing and submitting bids, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Pre-Construction/Estimating to decide on job bids.
  • Prepare and submit bids per company policy, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Create detailed job packages, including costs for labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment rentals, and overhead.
  • Maintain good relationships with customers, potential customers, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and timely responses.
  • Ensure all required bond and bid documents are requested and received, and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; a four-year college degree preferred. Equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years in commercial plumbing estimating.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to organize data into professional packages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to calculate figures like discounts, interest, and proportions.
  • Comprehend and interpret blueprints, technical journals, and legal documents.
  • Strong management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with job site safety requirements and the ability to lift and move 10-50 pound containers occasionally.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily indoor, climate-controlled office with occasional visits to job sites in various weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise levels in the office; potential loud noise on job sites.
Authority and Accountability:
  • Authorized to manage and administer operations under this role.
  • Set pricing guidelines, submit bids, set prices for change orders, and purchase necessary prints.
  • Directly accountable to the Vice President of Pre-Construction/Estimating for job performance and bid preparation.
