Job Overview

MAB Community Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team. As a Residential Counselor, you will provide support and guidance to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities or Acquired Brain Injuries in our community-based residential programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to participants in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Assist participants in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with friends and family members.
  • Facilitate and provide transportation to participants' community activities, appointments, and medical visits.
  • Monitor and report on participants' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
  • Manage challenging situations and provide positive behavioral supports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree and/or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants, their families, and community professionals.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive program vehicles.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry lightweight and moderately heavy objects.
  • Comfort with computers and ability to learn new reporting software.
