Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Northwest Texas Healthcare System. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing waived and non-waived complexity analysis of patient specimens for diagnostic purposes, and related procedures in the areas of assigned responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical laboratory procedures in any one or combination of specialty areas of the laboratory, optimizing the efficiency and quality of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical laboratory procedures.
  • Monitor quality control data and instrument maintenance.
  • Participate in and support a process to measure, assess, and performance improvement in areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Practice the profession of clinical laboratory science in the area(s) of assigned responsibility according to accepted standards of practice as outlined by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), CLIA, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), and other regulatory agencies as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science required.
  • Minimum one year clinical laboratory internship required.
  • Certifications: ASCP, AMT, and/or NCA preferred or eligible.
  • Mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the college level required.
