FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Compensation: $19.00 per hour based on relevant qualifications and experience

Available Positions: Multiple openings at our Early Education Centers

Impact Young Lives: This role is pivotal in shaping the educational experiences of young children.

This full-time, year-round position offers eligibility for comprehensive health insurance plans (including medical, dental, and vision), life insurance, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), retirement benefits, and 11 paid holidays.

The program operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Part-time opportunities are also available)

Pre-employment Requirements: A fingerprint background check, drug screening, and reference verification are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with children in a nurturing manner, both individually and in groups, utilizing developmentally appropriate practices and curricula.
  • Manage child behavior through effective discipline strategies, including redirection and positive reinforcement.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation and records in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Track and fulfill continuing education requirements, ensuring records are submitted appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet the qualifications for Assistant Teacher as per DCF 251.
  • Certification in Shaken Baby Syndrome training is required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Word for document creation and Excel for data management, is essential.
  • Commitment to obtaining a Registry certificate within 6 months and CPR/First Aid training within 3 months is necessary, along with proof of a physical examination.
  • Willingness to work across various program areas and age groups, demonstrating teamwork.
  • Exhibit patience, a positive demeanor, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Physical capabilities required for the position include:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds throughout the day.
    • Capacity to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.
    • Quick movement to ensure the safety of children in emergency situations.
    • Active participation in various activities with children (e.g., physical movement, dramatic play, and floor play).
