Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Development: Participate in the design and delivery of our dynamic 3+1 curriculum, where students build a foundation in core medical sciences before tailoring their 4th year to individual passions and career goals.
- Teaching and Mentoring: Guide students through active learning strategies, fostering lifelong learning and critical thinking, and provide crucial guidance and support as they navigate their medical journeys.
- Research and Scholarship: Pursue research and scholarship that pushes the boundaries of medical education and scientific understanding, and contribute to the continued development of a department of medical sciences at an emergent allopathic medical school.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Champion curriculum improvement initiatives, serve on School of Medicine and professional committees, and shape medical education policy and contribute your expertise.
- Accreditation and Compliance: Assist in LCME, MSCHE, OSHE, NJ-BME, and DOE accreditation activities, ensuring our School of Medicine maintains the highest standards in medical education.
- Education: Terminal degree (Ph.D., M.D., D.O.) with specialization in a basic science field.
- Expertise: Expertise in one of the following Pharmacology, Physiology, Pathology, Immunology/Microbiology, Anatomy/Neuroanatomy.
- Teaching Experience: Evidence of excellence in teaching in an undergraduate medical education and/or other health science settings.
- Team-Based Learning: Experience in team-based, problem-based, and case-based learning with students in both large and small class settings.
- Scholarship: Demonstrated scholarship (e.g., publications, patents, extramural grant-funding, research, etc.) in a relevant professional field.
- Active Learning Pedagogies: Demonstrated ability to effectively employ active learning pedagogies.
- Course Development: Demonstrated experience and ability in developing integrated medical science course materials for undergraduate medical students in both preclinical and clinical phases.
