About the Role:

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a highly qualified Professor, Full to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Phase 1 curriculum at the School of Medicine, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in various committee roles, contributing to the development of academic policies and procedures.
  • Pursue independent scholarship and research, advancing medical education and scientific knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and educational programs, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards.
  • Engage in research and scholarship to advance medical education and scientific knowledge.
  • Perform other faculty duties and assume academic roles commensurate with rank and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D., M.D., D.O.) with specialization in a basic science field.
  • Expertise in one of the following areas: Pharmacology, Physiology, Pathology, Immunology/Microbiology, Anatomy/Neuroanatomy.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching in an undergraduate medical education and/or other health science settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in team-based, problem-based, and case-based learning with students in both large and small class settings.
  • Demonstrated scholarship (e.g., publications, patents, extramural grant-funding, research, etc.) in a relevant professional field.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively employ active learning pedagogies.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in developing integrated medical science course materials for undergraduate medical students in both preclinical and clinical phases.
  • Skills necessary to contribute to the continued development of a department of medical sciences at an emergent allopathic medical school.
  • Experience in LCME accreditation activities and development of new medical schools.
