Job Summary

We're seeking a friendly and cooperative Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you'll be responsible for processing customer orders in an efficient, accurate, and safe manner at our retail locations. You'll work closely with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure a seamless shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, welcoming and engaging with customers to create a positive shopping experience.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, using check stand equipment such as cash registers, scanners, and scales.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques to promote products and increase sales.
  • Process monetary transactions, including cash, checks, gift certificates, and food stamps, while adhering to all Cash Handling and Lane Accountability policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of current product location, monitor UPC codes, and ensure proper pricing.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and properly stocked check stand, ensuring a safe and secure work area.
  • Stock, price, and rotate merchandise as needed.
  • May be assigned to a multi-station self-checkout lane or customer service counter as needed.
Requirements
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately handle monetary transactions.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 20 pounds frequently and perform repetitious work accurately.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to learn and memorize a considerable amount of information, including PLU codes, product locations, and company policies.
Additional Requirements
  • As required by applicable state and local laws, food safety/handlers cards, tobacco and alcohol sales certification (e.g., TAM card).
