About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join Lockheed Martin as an Aircraft Mechanic, working as part of the Collocated Maintenance Team (CMT) at a secure facility. Our team performs critical maintenance tasks for the US Special Operations Command's fleet of heavily modified C-130 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, auxiliary power unit and ventilation and heating systems.
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories.
  • Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
Requirements
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and/or repair malfunctions in the aircraft engine, auxiliary power unit, anti-icing and heating systems and all other supporting engine systems.
  • Ability to perform on-aircraft engine runs (if required).
  • Ability to perform all inspections, adjustments, alignments, rigging and calibration of engine torques and related propeller components to achieve maximum operating efficiency.
  • Ability to inspect engines and APUs to determine and maintain serviceability.
  • Have knowledge of aircraft fuel and mechanical principles applicable to aircraft fuel systems.
  • Possess competent abilities in the use and application of hand tools, power tools, machines work stands, support equipment and special tools/calibrated test equipment.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret Air Force maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, diagrams, schematics, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damage components.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance, therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills
  • Four (4) years of experience on C-130 aircraft, AE2100D3 engine and R391 Dowty propeller repairs.
