Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced professional to take on the role of Senior Observability Solutions Engineer. This position provides a remarkable opportunity to collaborate with various application and engineering teams to assess, design, and deploy optimal monitoring and observability frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with application and engineering teams to identify their monitoring and observability requirements.
  • Architect and implement robust observability solutions utilizing tools such as AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements, tools, vendors, and best practices in the observability domain.
  • Enhance and refine observability solutions to ensure they align with the needs of application teams and stakeholders.
  • Create proof-of-concept (POC) and minimum viable product (MVP) solutions, transitioning them to the automation team for further development.
  • Work with on-premises virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and various cloud technologies.
  • Utilize APIs for integration and data collection across different observability platforms.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell or Python to automate processes and enhance workflows.
  • Leverage automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions to optimize observability tasks.
  • Manage projects and timelines independently, ensuring timely delivery of objectives.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in IT operations, system administration, or engineering, with at least 3 years as an individual contributor on large-scale initiatives.
  • 2+ years of experience with open-source observability tools like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • 3+ years of advanced scripting experience in PowerShell and/or Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud APIs (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing observability frameworks.
  • Proficiency with observability tools such as AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
  • Strong understanding of APIs and their integration with observability tools.
  • Hands-on experience with on-premises virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and other cloud technologies.
  • Advanced scripting capabilities in PowerShell and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Ability to manage projects independently and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to remain current with the latest observability technologies and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience (High School diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience).

Compensation and Benefits
The typical pay range for this role is between $83,000 and $166,860 annually. This range represents the base salary for all positions within this job grade. Actual salary offers will depend on various factors including experience, education, and location. This position is eligible for a bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base salary.
