Job Title: Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our team at NBCUniversal. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our business.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop back-end software and services using a variety of programming languages and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and quality engineering, to deliver high-quality software and user experiences.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, retros, and sprint planning.
  • Troubleshoot and fix production issues as they occur.
  • Lead and mentor team members with complex technical and design issues.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer working in a back-end or full-stack capacity.
  • A deep understanding of current software design patterns and principles, as well as secure coding best practices.
  • 5 years of experience and understanding in computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in three or more of the following programming/query languages: Python, Java, SQL, GraphQL.
  • Experience with a variety of data stores, including SQL/RDBMS, NoSQL, and BaaS.
  • Experience with Git and source code control management and branching strategies.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and/or service-oriented architectures.
  • Strong working knowledge of common networking, infrastructure, and technical security fundamentals.
