Reporting To: Associate Vice President of Instruction

Olympic College is in search of a committed faculty member to deliver instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Educational Development (GED), High School Plus (HS+), and/or English Language Acquisition (ELA) within the Corrections Education program. This role is pivotal in supporting the educational journey of individuals at correctional facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver ABE, GED, HS+, and/or ELA courses utilizing diverse instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate with fellow faculty on curriculum design and program oversight.
  • Conduct interviews and evaluations of potential students.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of student progress and accountability.
  • Ensure the learning environment and resources are properly maintained.
  • Engage in mandatory meetings and professional development sessions.
Required Competencies:
  • Ability to engage respectfully with students.
  • Skill in designing and implementing curriculum that meets educational standards.
  • Commitment to serving a diverse student body.
  • Strong communication abilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Adult Education or a related discipline.
  • At least two years of teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in technology at an intermediate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Adult Education or a related field.
  • Experience in an educational role within a correctional setting.
