Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate to join our team at Chenega Corporation. As a key member of our Family Advocacy Program, you will play a critical role in providing support and resources to victims of domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 response to victims of domestic abuse, offering confidential and non-clinical emergent and urgent services.
  • Establish and maintain a Victim's Safety Plan, working closely with the Family Advocacy Treatment Manager and other stakeholders to ensure the victim's safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist and mental health professionals to develop and implement safety plans, prioritizing the victim's needs and concerns.
  • Offer follow-up services to victims, empowering them to advocate for their needs and supporting them in decision-making and goal-setting.
  • Provide information and referrals on military and civilian resources, including emergency shelter, housing, childcare, legal services, and clinical resources.
  • Support the Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist in promoting education and prevention of domestic abuse, including outreach programs, educational briefings, and skill-building classes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience assisting and providing advocacy services to victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Basic Advocate credential with designation of Comprehensive Intervention Specialist, as approved by the National Advocate Credentialing Program.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
