The Integrated Search Solutions (ISS) team at Marriott is dedicated to shaping the future of search for the leading global hospitality brand, aiming to become the preferred choice for travelers worldwide. Reporting directly to the Director of ISS, this position will take charge of implementing Marriott's comprehensive search platform across various applications.
This team is engaged in developing and refining the search engine (Lucidworks Fusion) that supports multiple search functionalities, including hotel, dining, and promotional searches, while also enhancing front-end components across the digital platform through recommendation services. In this capacity, the Lead Manager, ISS will encounter the intricacies of operating at a vast scale and the challenges of integrating LLMs and generative AI within a corporate framework.
The Lead Manager will oversee our agile cross-functional development team, working closely with the ISS development group to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. This role will also provide insights on optimal practices for solution architecture and contribute to critical decision-making processes. Collaboration with the testing team will be essential to formulate and implement thorough testing strategies, ensuring that all functional solutions meet rigorous quality benchmarks.
This position will partner with product teams, engineering, commerce, and digital leaders across Marriott International to gather business requirements, establish objectives, and drive a development roadmap for ISS capabilities and features. This will enable our team to activate each element of that roadmap and support our "platform as a product" development approach, resulting in a premier backlog of features and enhancements.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of experience in digital product management, emphasizing project oversight (both onshore and offshore).
- At least 3 years of experience in drafting functional design documents and leading design discussions.
- Experience in an agile/scrum software development setting.
- Ability to interpret business goals and translate them into KPIs, roadmaps, and product features/enhancements.
- Experience in vendor/service provider management.
- Experience in implementing or managing site search within e-commerce or hospitality sectors.
- Technical background with a willingness to learn about data flows, service caching, APIs, and other solution architecture elements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in bridging technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all organizational levels.
