Endoscopy Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Endoscopy Technician to join our team at St. David's Georgetown Hospital. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy department, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with and perform skilled procedures as delegated by professional staff and physician.
  • Recognize and communicate all abnormal findings and report findings to the nurse.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in specialized department equipment, as well as in patient monitoring.
  • Provide clear and concise reports or patient conditions and progress.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and adequately stocked patient care area.
  • Ensure the availability of instruments and equipment for the procedure prior to the start of the procedure.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and handle dirty linens.
Requirements:
  • One year of endoscopy experience and specific experience in the clinical services provided by the department.
  • High school graduate or equivalent or proof of higher level of education required if hired after September 2010.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • CNA or MA certification - preferred.
