New York, New York, United States Greenbacker Capital Full time
Position Overview

Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company is a prominent investment management firm with nearly $4 billion in assets under management, dedicated to facilitating the energy transition through diverse strategies, including infrastructure, private equity, and a newly established real estate sector. Since our inception in 2011, we have grown to over 200 professionals across multiple locations.

Core Investment Strategies

  • Infrastructure: Our infrastructure strategy, known as "GREC," focuses on the development, ownership, and operation of approximately 500 renewable energy facilities across various states, amounting to nearly four gigawatts of generation capacity.
  • Private Equity: The private equity strategy, referred to as "GDEV," excels in growth equity investments within the energy transition, managing a portfolio of around twenty companies.
  • Real Estate: Our newly initiated real estate strategy, "GSR," is spearheaded by two experienced executives with a collective $40 billion in real estate private equity transaction experience. GSR aims to enhance the value of grid-connected properties with access to substantial power, focusing on acquiring and developing sites suitable for digital infrastructure, renewable energy, and fleet charging assets.

  • Deal Sourcing and Management: Aid in sourcing new investment opportunities through networking with brokers, partners, and industry contacts, while managing and maintaining the deal pipeline for effective follow-up and coordination.
  • Presentation Preparation: Prepare investment committee memoranda for internal reviews and external presentations, creating materials to support capital raising efforts and investor due diligence.
  • Business Development: Assist in formulating the business plan, budget, and marketing materials for the real estate credit strategy, liaising with internal and external parties to prepare for the launch of this new investment vertical.
