POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in managing the upkeep and repair of machinery, tools, and facilities to guarantee peak operational efficiency. This position focuses on preventing disruptions in production caused by equipment malfunctions. The technician will collaborate with the production team to arrange maintenance and repairs, allocate necessary resources, and ensure that all tasks are performed safely and effectively. Additionally, the Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is essential, along with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are vital for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the upkeep of machinery, tools, and facilities.

  1. Reactive Maintenance: Efficiently identifies and resolves abnormal machine conditions or failures.
  2. Preventive Maintenance: Develops annual strategies and schedules to avert equipment failures.
  3. Predictive Maintenance: Monitors equipment conditions to foresee and prevent failures, aiming to reduce maintenance frequency and avoid unexpected downtime and expenses.
  4. Works closely with the Production Department to minimize the impact of maintenance and repairs on production schedules.
  5. Collaborates with colleagues and supervisors to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  6. Ensures all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed accurately and promptly.
  7. Manages all relevant maintenance data and resources.
  8. Utilizes a Maintenance Management system to oversee schedules and work history.
  9. Maintains documentation for machinery and equipment.
  10. Maintains all records related to facility equipment and utilities.
  11. Oversees inventory of spare parts and tools.
  12. Manages vendor-related information and planning, ensuring that scheduled work is executed satisfactorily.

Collaborates with the Engineering Department to assess, acquire, install, and validate new machinery and equipment.

  1. Partners with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to enhance quality control and productivity through machine modifications, layout adjustments, or the creation of work aids.
  2. Implements and adheres to safety protocols and regulations.
  3. Ensures compliance with environmental and industry standards.
  4. Reports maintenance challenges and performance metrics to management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCCER Certification.
  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical troubleshooting techniques and experience with PLC logic.
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance requirements, including HVAC, plumbing, and related tasks.
  • Certification for operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and similar equipment.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Maintenance Management software.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as JDE or SAP.
