Nurse Practitioner

Kaiser Permanente nurses are guided by an integrated nursing model that prioritizes patient-centered care. The Licensed Practical Nurse I (LPN I) practices nursing according to the Georgia Board of Nursing standards of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and organizational policies.
The LPN I, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Physician, provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families to promote or restore health and prevent illness and injury. This role involves educating patients and families, assisting with care coordination, and collaborating with the Health Care Team to ensure high-quality care that meets defined standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for office visits by reviewing medical history, collecting relevant clinical information, measuring vital signs, and documenting in the medical record. Complete Point of Entry (POE) and address care gaps during patient encounters. Prepare rooms and equipment for procedures and assist practitioners as needed. Initiate interventions and document responses to treatment according to established workflows and guidelines. Participate in emergency care as directed by practitioners or registered nurses. Educate patients and provide preparation materials for diagnostic studies according to guidelines. Schedule appointments for patients with lab, radiology, or specialty consultations as ordered by practitioners. Monitor electronic messaging and emails related to patient or provider requests and manage messages within scope of practice. Participate in departmental or regional quality improvement activities and initiatives. Engage patients, families, and caregivers in care coordination. Resolve patient concerns promptly. Provide departmental orientation and training to new team members on standard work, policies, and procedures. Participate in the supervision of unlicensed personnel in the delivery of patient care. May perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing (LPN/LVN) program. Practical Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire. Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association.
Additional Requirements:
Complete a Customer Service Assessment. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum six (6) months of healthcare experience preferred. Customer service aptitude demonstrated through Customer Service Assessment.
