Aeronautics Professor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Aeronautics Professor to join our team at Mt. San Antonio College. As an Adjunct Professor of Aeronautics, you will be responsible for teaching college-level aeronautics courses, including Primary Pilot Ground School, Introduction to Aviation Careers, Federal Aviation Regulations, Aviation Weather, and other aeronautics courses as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach a diverse population of aeronautics students through informed instructional methods and contribute to their growth and success as students.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the aviation discipline and of educational teaching methodologies.
  • Participate in aeronautics curriculum development, learning outcomes and assessment, and aeronautics department advisory committee meetings.
  • Perform the duties of a professor and comply with the college's responsibilities for professors.
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators in planning and administering aeronautics initiatives and programs.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or an associate degree and six years of professional experience.
  • Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.
  • Commitment to the community college goals/objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Communicate effectively to students orally and in writing.
  • FAA Certification as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified Flight Instructor.
  • No history of FAA certificate actions or FAA enforcement actions.
  • Teaching experience, classroom or remote instruction, at a college, in industry, or in government.
